Hey DPAians! I guess for some, it's a term break for you guys, while some like me do still have exams going on. Well, all the best to those who do have exams still.
Next is, can everyone pass on this message, there will be a DPA Meeting on the 18th June 2008 (Wednesday), at about 10am to noon. Can we all get all DPAs down for this meeting? Do pass to all. I do hope to see all 71 DPAs down at the meeting, ok? haha... well anyway, for those who can't make it, still do let me know.
Agenda for the meeting is for HSS Lecturers to catch up with us, DPAs, and to give us our DPA certificate (it's another certificate), etc...
Besides that, the main committee will then have another DPA meeting on further discussion to help DPA next batch. Can you guys help me out with this? Whoever WANTS to go back to secondary schools to speak (*may not be your secondary school, but some other schools as well), and who are enthusiastic to help out for DPA Interest Group, can you send me an email to tell me that you are interested to help in what area.
If you guys do have other ideas, please feel free to share by emailing me or Hong Cherh.
I have to compile your names to send it to HSS lecturers side for validation/compilation. OK? Thanks so much for helping and giving your all to DPA. DPA RAWKS!
cheers & love kenneth

About me
What is Direct Polytechnic Admission?
1. The Direct Polytechnic Admissions (DPA) Exercise is an admission exercise which allows students who have the passion and
aptitude for applied learning to secure a place in a polytechnic course before you sit for your ‘O’ Level examinations.
2. It’s an avenue for students whose passion and talent in a specific field are not fully reflected in their examination results.
Why DPA?
It gives us greater flexibility to select you based on a wider range of your talents other than your examination results.
You get to enjoy special preparatory programmes which let you chalk up poly credits counting towards your graduation before your friends even enrol!
What our Pioneers say!
Cheryl:
“Initially, I wondered why my other secondary school friends were playing while I was studying and starting my poly life so soon. Over time, I have learnt many things from DPA.
My Cross Disciplinary Subjects: Japanese Language and Psychology of Creativity, are subjects that I don’t find in my secondary school. I also learnt to be a leader when we were camping together.
It's more than studies in Polytechnic Preparatory Programme (PPP). It's all about fun, learning, interaction and friendship. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Nur Fazleena:
“I personally feel that DPA is very enriching as we are given a broader view and better insights about the courses offered in the Business school. Also,we are lucky to be able to try out some CCAs.
PPP helps us to be more familiar with the TP environment and culture. We have the chance to bond with the seniors too. It feels great to be among the unique first batch of students.”
Zhi Yong:
“DPA - It’s an exercise we would never want to miss, a journey that leads to great friendships and unexpected valuable learning as well.”
Kenneth:
"DPA is one admission exercise different from any other Direct Entry Exercise. The friends you make here last forever.
Besides, DPA allows me to finish three CDS and collect nine credit units within the fun-filled eight-week PPP in TP."
Theresa:
"DPA gives an edge over the rest? Definitely! And it comes with whole lot of fun, learning and excitement.
The best part is I get to meet friends that I would never let go of."
